Ritual of Hammam is one of the oldest body cleansing traditions. It comes from Moroccan culture of body care and is based on public baths. It enhances the elasticity of the skin and smoothens it, as well as reduces wrinkles’ visibility. It is a pure feast for body and soul that can be recreated in your own bathroom.

Step 1 – Softening

In a traditional Moroccan hammam the first step of the treatment is a public steam bath. In domestic conditions this role is going to be taken over by a warm shower, which is going to soften the skin and open up the pores. Thanks to it the next steps are going to bring better results.

Step 2 – Exfoliating

On wet and softened skin apply a thin layer of black soap (savon noir) and spread it evenly on the skin. Wait a few minutes. During this time the soap, which acts as an enzymatic peeling, is going to deeply cleanse the skin and prepare it for exfoliation. The next step is a massage, using your exfoliating Kessa glove. Without rinsing the soap, massage the body with firm strokes until you notice rolled, dead skin. This stage perfectly improves circulation and is particularly efficient in getting rid of cellulite.

Step 3 – Cleansing

An absolute star of this stage is magnificent Moroccan ghassoul clay. Apply the clay on previously dried body, after mixing it with water or your favourite hydrosol. Leave for around 15 minutes and then rinse with warm water. Thanks to an entire range of minerals present in the clay (such as selenium, zinc, magnesium), your skin will not only be thoroughly cleansed, but also deeply nourished.

Step 4 – Moisturising and Nourishing

The last step could not do without the “liquid gold of Morocco”. Soft and clean skin will absorb all the goodness offered by argan oil much better. Massage it into your entire body and wait until it absorbs fully. With this relaxing massage end the ritual.
